About This Spot

Asam Pedas Zink feels like stepping into a gentle pause from the rush of everyday life, nestled quietly along Jalan Pasir Gembor in the heart of Kampung Tanjong Bidara. From the moment you arrive, the laid-back kampung charm wraps around you—not just in the humble zinc-roofed structure that inspired the name, but in the warmth of every smile and the slow, unhurried rhythm that invites you to settle in.

The pace here is calm and welcoming, blending the simple pleasure of good company with the rich fragrances of traditional flavors simmering just beyond the kitchen. It’s a place where mornings carry a relaxed vibe—perfect for breakfast amid soft sunlight and gentle breezes—and evenings hum quietly with locals and visitors gathering to enjoy shared meals.

The soul of Asam Pedas Zink lies in its food, which offers a sincere taste of Melaka’s coastal heritage, capturing the essence of kampung cooking without pretense. The dishes echo this thoughtful simplicity: the asam pedas, fragrant and comforting with a subtle heat, balances beautifully with touches like sambal and fresh lime ice, creating moments that feel both familiar and deeply rooted in place.

Here, the experience is as much about the atmosphere as the food—finding joy in the honest, everyday hospitality of a family-run spot where visitors are greeted warmly and encouraged to linger. It’s that kind of place where the menu is an invitation to share stories, to slow down, and to savor flavors that carry the wisdom of tradition and the kindness of community.

Great hospitality by Owner, very welcoming. Love the asam pedas from someone who doesnt like spicy food. Lots of other fish selection. RM 80 for 5 adults, 2 kids. That's great value. Similar dishes would easily double the price. Although a bit hot, the food was sublime. Will come again and highly recommended.

Google map reviews brought me here! The eating house has a zink roof, hence the creative name I guessed. The asam pedas is decent & so are the dishes on offer. Love the kampung atmosphere & relaxed feel here.

Serves a variety of food menus based on spicy asam. Tapai glutinous rice wrapped in leaves is also sold. Prices are reasonable for the food. Breakfast menu is also available such as noodles, vermicelli and roti canai.

If you're looking for a place to have lunch and you saw big bikes parked nearby, just go and have your meal there. Bikers usually gathered at places where the food are tasty and delicious... Ha ha ha... The place is self service for the dishes and the drinks will be delivered to your table. We got ikan merah asam pedas ( sour hot red fish? ) , siput sedut masak lemak ( coconut fat snail) , sayur lemak pucuk manis ( sweet vegetable top) and two lime ice. Theres free flow of sky juice near the counter. The ikan merah asam pedas........ It is.... Wuunnnnddeerrfuullll....savory until the last drop. Matched with sayur masak pucuk manis... for fiber dietry requirment and the siput sedut... for the experienced patrons... the dish bring backs memories of simple kampung meal. Wait!! Theres more offering, theres fish head asam pedas, daging gulai kawah, altogether abt 12 - 15 different dish to pick from.. Wheres the picture of other dishes? You better come down and taste it yourself... ha ha ha Priced very reasonable. Dah sedap ko nak murah macam mana lagi? Berbaloi bang! Syukur alhamdulilah.
